Meet Grace, Rich & Eloise

Who is Anthem Church? This week’s update will encourage you with three short stories that show how God is at work in our new church.

Grace is originally from Beijing, China and now lives in Bellevue. What brought her to the U.S. in 2011 was the American Dream. What she found was a relationship with Jesus. Being the first Christian in her family, Grace understands why our church must reach the 60,000 foreign-born residents living in Bellevue, and the tens of thousands more living throughout the Eastside.

Rich is from Sammamish. The Holy Spirit convicted him that he loved reading the Bible more than reaching his neighbor. So, Rich started by initiating conversation with his neighbors, asking questions like, “How are you doing today?” or “How are you dealing with the stress of Covid-19?” He is making time in his schedule to build relationship with and to love the people he meets in the places where he lives, works, learns, and plays.

Eloise is my daughter, and we live in Issaquah. As we started this new church, I did not want her to stop growing in her faith. My wife, Ligaya, has started a kid’s ministry so that our church family can help all the kids at Anthem to follow Jesus. What encourages me is to hear from Eloise how she sees what faith looks like as we start this new church together. God is answering her specific prayers, showing her (and all of us) that God is with us as we step out in faith with Him.
