How Is This Possible?

Our church laid hands on the Neubauer family to prayerfully send them out at our retreat earlier this month, which is amazing because we also did this with Jeff and Beth last year.

How is this possible? Not only did God start our church during the "worst time" to plant a church in a pandemic. Not only did God lead people to follow Jesus before (and after) we officially launched into outreach activities last fall. Not only did our new church send the Newcomers to start a church in Upton, Wyoming last year. But now, we are sending the Neubauers this summer to join them. After their baptism last summer, the Neubauer family has been praying about their future. And God is leading them to join Jeff and Beth to start a new church in Upton, Wyoming.

The answer is that God is working through each of us as we follow His will for our lives. This does not mean our life is easy, nor without challenges. It does mean we are a part of something exciting to share as we follow God's calling for us. Our calling from Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20 is to go and make disciplemakers of Jesus until every person in every language group hears the good news and encounters the good life in Jesus. As we follow His calling by loving God, loving our church and loving our neighbor, God will continue to do an incredible work in and through our church.

What's next? Keep praying. I’m challenging our church to remain focused on our calling from God. For us, this means we schedule 3 hours every week with God, with each other, and with our neighbors. From now until the fall, I pray that every person in our church would share a meal with (at least) one neighbor, and towards starting a spiritual conversation with them. And for those who build a relationship with their neighbor, I pray that it would work for them to invite their neighbor into a spiritual conversation with our church through Alpha this fall. Join us in prayer that God would continue to surprise us as we continue to seek His will for our lives.
